Becoming a Member of USAC

Membership on the University Staff Advisory Council provides an opportunitity for staff to learn more about the institution as a whole and to be a part of discussions about how to improve the University of Richmond as both a unique learning environment and workplace for staff. The Council responds to staff submission of concerns and works with relevant campus partners to answer questions from the community.


Nominations for the 2018-2020 term will take place March 13-27.


Elections for the 2018-2020 term will take place April 10-May 1. 

What are the Commitments?

  • Serve a two-year or one-year term beginning July 1, 2018
  • Attend one two-hour meeting per month
  • Actively serve on one of our committees
  • Be a brand ambassador of the council around campus through volunteering at events and employee orientations
  • Represent your co-workers at the council and communicate council news back to staff and colleagues

How to Become a Member

Under recently adopted changes, members are selected from among the University's divisions and major departments. Any staff member may nominate staff for the vacant seats up for election each year.

If a staff member is nominated and accepts their nomination, they will be required to submit a written statement outlining their interest in USAC. Within each division, staff will then vote to select the person they want to send as a representative to the Council.
